A Unique Island Escape in Florida

Captiva Island, located North of its sister island Sanibel and across the causeway bridge from Ft. Myers, has an international reputation as a year around vacation destination.  For 365 days a year vacationers can enjoy swimming and sunbathing at the Gulf beach just a two minute walk away or in our pool, heated to a comfortable 85 degrees.  Both islands are world famous sanctuary islands, noted for their abundance of seashells, miles of natural undisturbed beaches, fascinating bird life and beautiful subtropical foliage.  Add the intrigue of pirate legends, conquistadors, a unique Carribean atmosphere, and a secret getaway for celebrities and you can see why Captiva Island is a world class vacation destination.

Captiva Island has received national recogition as one of the top ten beaches in America and also as the most romantic beach area for several years.  Want to get married there?  There are lots of weddings every year held on the beach or at the famous Chapel by the Sea, located just at the end of our street.

Both Sanibel and Captiva have excellent restaurants, shops and galleries.  On Captiva, the "Village" is just a five minute walk and offers lots of fine dining and shopping choices.  There are two public golf courses on Sanibel,  the Dunes and Beachview offering year-round golf to the public.  Deep sea or bay fishing excursions are also available by checking with the folks at nearby Jensens Marina.  There you can also rent boats or schedule lunch cruises to nearby islands.

The Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge is located just 15 minutes from Captiva and is a must see. 

To reach this island getaway, take Interstate 75 to Exit 21 at Daniels Parkway and go West to Summerlin Road.  Cross the Sanibel Causeway to Sanibel Island.  Stop at our rental office about a half mile on Sanibel.  They will provide you with keys to our home and detailed driving directions.  Check out the map provided on the Property Information Page to get an idea where MillerTime Villa is located on the Island.
